Zona Alfa. The Lake Dale Irregulars

Hi!

Our hardy bunch, ready to tackle the zone.

Having spare bodies from the Stargrave crew box and a couple of free sprues (WW2 German, & British 8th army) from the magazines, I thought I'd try a little Zona Alfa. Well, I do have alsorts of monsters and anomalies with the Frostgrave, Sell Swords & Spell Slingers and Five Leagues from the Borderlands figures.

The team have 'borrowed' some weapons and equipment from a collector of WW2 memorabilia. He even had a rifle range where he could live fire his weapons. Luckily, he absconded  to a safer place until he could return in safety.

Meet the team the leader is putting together to protect their families, and earn some readies in case things get worse.

The Leader

Ranjit Singh (Veteran)

Baby faced Mike (Hardened)

Duncan (Rookie)

Gordon (Rookie)

Custer (Rookie)

This will be the starting crew. I had thought to add one more but that may come in time.

The buildings I will use will be from various manufacturers. I have the fantasy village or village ruins from Battle Systems which I can fall back on when needed. I have no doubt other types of terrain will make it's way into an ever-growing pile.

I am also turning my hand to making the simpler hedge rows, walls and things as confidence takes me.

I have a couple of vehicles for them to get around in. But, the one I chose carried on the theme of WW2 equipment.

The British Universal Carrier (from Warlord Games)

I took the 4 crew members as was, just swapping the heads for the same, or similar, for the ones used for the foot figures. The standing figure had a change of legs and arms, from the 8th army sprue again.

I painted as best I could to resemble the foot figures. Not fantastic, but relatively pleasing.

I have a little work to do on the Carrier, but not much. The glass on the light and a few minor touches. Maybe, even some of the decals which came with the kit.

All the figures are glued in.

Thanks' for dropping by.
